FNOL Call Script Generator. First Notice of Loss.
Generate a customized script for your first call to the carrier after a loss.
INTRODUCTION: "Hi, I'm [YOUR NAME]. I'm calling to file a First Notice of Loss. My policy number is [POLICY #]." LOSS BASICS: "The loss is at [PROPERTY ADDRESS]. The date of loss was [DATE]. The type of damage is water." BRIEF FACTS (stick to facts; do not speculate): "[BRIEF, FACTUAL DESCRIPTION OF WHAT HAPPENED]" KEY STATEMENTS TO MAKE: 1. "I reserve the right to supplement this claim as the full scope becomes clear." 2. "I've taken initial photographs and documentation." 3. "Please provide me with a claim number and the name of the adjuster assigned." 4. "I want to receive all communications in writing via email or letter." KEY QUESTIONS TO ASK: 1. What is my claim number? 2. Who is assigned as my adjuster? What is their license number and direct contact? 3. When will the adjuster contact me? When will inspection occur? 4. What documentation do you need from me right now? 5. What is the statutory deadline for your response? 6. Do I need to provide a sworn proof of loss? If so, what is the timeline? 7. Will I be asked to give a recorded statement? If so, when? DO NOT: - Speculate about the cause of loss - Estimate repair costs unless you have a contractor estimate - Apologize or take responsibility - Accept any settlement offer during this call - Sign anything during or right after this call - Give a recorded statement unless you are fully prepared NEXT STEPS AFTER CALL: 1. Write down the claim number 2. Save any reference emails or letters 3. Continue documenting damage (photos, video, receipts) 4. Begin emergency mitigation (tarps, extraction, board-up) and save ALL receipts 5. Do NOT clean up or demolish anything yet 6. Call a licensed Florida public adjuster if the claim is complex or the carrier response seems limited
