Actual Cash Value
The depreciated value of damaged property.
Actual Cash Value is replacement cost minus depreciation. Florida carriers often pay ACV first, then release depreciation as repairs are completed (for RCV policies).
Example. A 10-year-old roof with a 25-year warranty, destroyed by a storm, has an ACV of roughly 60% of its replacement cost.
