Total Loss
Damage at or exceeding the cost to replace the entire structure or item.
Total loss triggers specific policy provisions. For the structure, it may require tear-down and rebuild to code (activating ordinance or law). For contents, it is typically replacement at RCV or ACV depending on policy.
